The entire contents of this gift book was first published in 1850 by
M. W. Dodd as “Wheat - Sheafs, Gathered from Our Own Fields". The
contents include vignettes written by either F. C. Woodworth or T. S
Arthur. It has 288 pages and a number of line drawn illustrations.
This title was published by several firms.
Derby & Miller in Auburn, New York co-published this
title with Derby, Orton, & Mulligan, Buffalo in 1853 with an 1852
copyright. Later Miller, Orton and Mulligan (the successor to Derby
& Miller) in 1854 published a reprint. This blindstamped 16 mo.
volume cost 75 cents.
The Burdick Brothers' edition was published in 1857-1858 while the A. B. Burdick copy was printed between 1858 and 1861. Neither of these books have been seen.
