Ten Nights in a Bar-Room

The book was copyrighted in 1854. During that year there were seven editions.
Ten thousand copies sold within the first month of publication.

In 1854 the earlier books noted the stereotyper as L. Johnson and Co. The later books note King & Baird as the stereotyper.

All the books in the 1850's used the same plates. In the preface, line seven in the later books has broken type in the "c" in cause.

Unbroken "c" above and broken "c" below.

The Lippincott, Grambo & Co. and the earliest L. Crown & Co. had the Van Ingen frontispieces. Later 1854 books and editions until 1863 had the Sartain frontispiece.

None of the books here had any internal illustrations.

All the books noted here are clothbound and are 7.25” x 5.25"
