J. & J. L. Gihon, Philadelphia
Jas. L. Gihon, Philadelphia
I know very little about these publishers except that they ( and
their iterations) were active in the late 1840’s to the late 1850’s.
These companies published five T. S. Arthur books. Four had been
previously published by Henry F. Anners. All five were reprints.
Fanny Dale: or, A Year after Marriage (One illustration - frontispiece)
The Lady at Home; or, Leaves from the Every Day Book of American Woman
(One illustration - frontispiece)
The Young Music Teacher, and Other Tales (One illustration -
frontispiece)
In 1850 these three titles were advertised together as choice works by
T. S. Arthur. Cloth, gilt 18 mo. The three titles were published by J.
& J. L. Gihon in 1850-1853 and then by Jas. L. Gihon in 1854. The
price was 50 cents.
They were most recently (late 1840’s) published by Henry F. Anners.

The two cover formats below were also seen with Jas. L. Gihon books
in 1854.
